Our flight was delayed by two hours and as most my readers will know, airports can be pretty stressful places if you are delayed with autistic children! We decided to try out the Rest and Fun Center for a couple of hours and I am so glad we did!
The Rest and Fun Center is available to anyone travelling from terminal one with a valid boarding pass. There is an internet cafe, refreshments for sale, and private lounges to hire.
We chose to hire an Xbox lounge for two hours. Setting us back €12 for the room we found it to be great value! The large no smoking room was perfect, clean and private!
There was a large TV with Xbox and the kids were given 5 games to choose from. They immediately set up camp on the comfy bucket chairs and started playing.
There was also two large sofas, a coffee table with pot of sweets and a selection of magazines to read.
The room overlooked had a large window where you could watch the planes.
There was also a toilet, and shower to freshen up before the flight.
Although we chose an Xbox lounge, there are also office lounges, cinema lounges, family lounges and relax lounges to choose from. If you are in need of more rest there are hotel rooms available during the day or overnight at very reasonable prices.
This is quite possibly the best option we have had for waiting in an airport and the kids were the least stressed they have been before boarding a plane.
