Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel is in a beautiful restored 17th century building. It still has many original features including exposed wooden floors, stone carvings and log fires. You can really feel the history when you stay in the building and can imagine royalty staying there.
We had booked a standard room last minute on Laterooms.com and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Devereux suite, named after Sir Edward Devereux who lived there in the 1500’s. The room was amazing and had a real feel of being in a castle! With its original oak panelled walls, it was like stepping into history.
The soft carpeted room was spacious with intricate yet sturdy furniture that went well with the oak panelling. There was plenty of storage space, a table and chairs, a desk and a very comfortable King size bed.
The bathroom was incredibly large, almost the same size as the room! It had a roll top bath set in the middle of the room, two sinks and an impressive rain shower.
Toiletries were provided and any others available to order from reception.
We had a very comfortable nights stay in the Devereux Suite.
Breakfast was in the Great Hall. It felt like we were dining in a stately home showroom, with its elegant Oak walls, large fireplace and huge windows. There was a continental breakfast available to help yourself and a menu for cooked items. Tea or coffee was served to the table.
We ordered English breakfast items and eggs benedict. The hash browns were very nice and so were the beans. The scrambled eggs weren’t so much to our taste.
The eggs benedict was nice. I ordered my poached eggs well done and they came exactly how I like them. The smoked salmon was of good quality.
We had a pleasant stay in the aesthetically pleasing surroundings that Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel provides, and would definitely consider staying there again.
Taking a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder to Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel?
The hotel was welcoming and staff were friendly.
They do have family rooms available with extra beds.
The room we were in had large windows with good light during the day but very dim artificial lighting at night.
Lamps, kettles etc were within reach.
The bedroom door opened from the outside with a key card but was easily openable from the inside, although fairly heavy.
The hotel has large gardens to escape to.
