We arrived at The Pearl Hotel after a long drive and were greeted by the very friendly receptionist. She explained the breakfast system to us and gave us a breakfast sheet to return to her later with our order for the morning.
The Pearl hotel is beautiful inside and even before we got to our room we were impressed.
The room was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed from fresh bottled water, tea, coffee and biscuits to a massive wall mounted TV opposite the very comfy looking bed.
The bathroom was huge, very clean and had a large walk in shower.
We were hungry and after settling into the room we decided to try out the room service for which a menu was provided. It took a few minutes and a quick phone call to realise that the room service was not provided by the hotel but by the Tavan restaurant that shared the building. So I rang the restaurant and placed an order. They told me they could either take payment by card downstairs at the restaurant or they could take cash on delivery.
The meal was delivered to the room on a tray and it really had the wow factor, both in looks and taste!
I had ordered a starter of Kral Karides, char grilled king prawns marinated in lemon and coriander. The prawns were absolutely delicious and were also served with a very nice complimenting dip.
I also ordered Sebze Moussaka, a vegetarian moussaka and it far exceeded my expectations! The plate of food was a beautiful, colourful dish, reminiscent of food I have been served in top restaurants in Turkey. The moussaka itself was perfectly cooked and accompanied by rice, couscous, Cacik dip and very fresh salads. The mix of flavours complimented each other brilliantly.
I also ordered sides of chips and Ekmek, homemade Turkish bread. The bread was amazingly fresh and delicious with the dips and chips.
I can honestly say that the meal was the best room service meal I have ever been served and £20 well spent!
After a very comfy nights sleep, the breakfast we ordered the night before was delivered to our room.
Breakfast is continental and we had been given the option of various juices and hot drinks, a selection of cereals with hot or cold milk, pastries, croissants and toast, a selection of jams and fresh fruit. Every item we ordered was delivered in the half hour time slot we chose and it was great to wake up to breakfast in bed. We had breakfast included in our room rate but if you don’t then it costs a very reasonable £3.99 per person.
We had a very comfortable night at the extremely friendly Pearl Hotel and absolutely loved the meal we ordered from the Tavan Restaurant. If we are ever passing through Peterborough again we would definitely stay at this great value hotel.
Taking an Autistic child to The Pearl Hotel, Peterborough?
The hotel is a friendly quiet hotel.
There is capacity for an extra bed or cot in the rooms if booked in advance.
The breakfast system is great as it eliminates the need to leave the room for breakfast and the options are ‘normal’ breakfast items.
The hotel has its own car park and you can park near the door.
The room we were in had a shower but no bath.
The windows are large and only openable at the top which is high up.
One of the ornaments in the room was a glass bowl with water and flowers in and the water came in a glass bottle.
Children must be supervised at all times.
The Pearl Hotel and Tavan Restaurant are located on Lincoln Road in Peterborough.
How many nights did you stay? Is the price worth it?
One night bed and breakfast for £50 between Christmas and new year and the hotel was really nice so I’d say it was worth it.
Wow that has to be the best room service that I have ever seen, I love the Turkish theme . The food looks fresh and vibrant and I love the look of the bathroom it is so pretty!
The Turkish theme was unusual but worked so well and the food was honestly the best room service food I have ever had!
This sounds like a lovey place to say and the food portions were so big. Great value for money.
The food was amazing! One meal was enough for two!
Wow. The hotel looks fantastic and the food is so mouth watering! I would love to have a chance to book a stay there someday.
WOW! That looks delicious. However, I worked in room service for years and serving toast like that is a bad idea. Gets cold fast and exposed to everything from the kitchen on the way to the room. The Sebze Moussaka looks delicious
I agree on the toast but then with a free breakfast you cant really complain and the meal the night before more than made up for it!
omg the food! haha and the interior and velvet feelings looks so cozy and classy. It always feels good when you walk into the room and it’s all fancy.
I think this is one of the best hotels you’ve stayed in. I’m happy that you totally enjoyed everything in this place – the room itself, food and service.
I loooove both cuisines! There’s a Moroccan resto in Manila that I kept going back to when I was there because of its flavorful rice and spiced lamb chops. That Turkish flatbread looks delish!
