Bella Italia, Church Street, Blackpool

The words

We were in Blackpool at the Winter Gardens where my daughter was dancing. She had a two hour break between dances and my son had, had more than enough of the competition, so we went out to find some food.

Luckily for us Bella Italia is situated right outside the door and even luckier for us they take the gourmet card on a Sunday! So armed with my little green card to give me 25% discount on the bill I took the kids there for some lunch.

We were seated quickly and they even accommodated my childrens request to sit in a different place, moving two tables next to each other for us.

Tables in a restaurant with the sign saying Bella Italia on the wall behind.

The waitress was very patient with us as my son struggled to choose what he wanted and got our drinks to give him a little longer to choose.

I ordered the breads and dip to start. There was enough in one basket for the three of us.

My son had eventually decided on a barbeque chicken pizza. It was surprisingly large and he really liked it.

A tasty looking Barbeque chicken pizzza.

My daughter opted for the safe bet of chicken and chips and said it was great.

A plate of chips, chicken breast, rocket, onion rings and garlic butter.

I ordered a tuna steak and it was amazing! The heart shaped, pesto topped tuna steak was on a bed of roast potatoes and vegetables. It wasn’t a small portion and quite filling.

A plate of roasted vegetables and potatoes. There is a tuna steak on top with green pesto and a slice of lemon.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food considering Bella Italia is a chain restaurant. The staff were all very friendly. We really enjoyed our meals and my son even had enough pizza leftover to take home for his tea!

There was no noticeable background music.

The time we were there was very quiet. It was early lunch time (12:30) on a Sunday.

The food was served quickly.

The waitress was extremely patient with my son.

The restaurant has many windows and is well lit.

The toilets are upstairs.
