I don’t really want to share this with you at all! I don’t want to risk people finding out and booking it so I can’t but then that would be selfish!
Roo’s Ranch is where we stay in Orlando. It is a great three bedroom villa and so conveniently located if you are going to Disney World that we keep going back!
The owner is great and any issues are dealt with straight away.
As you walk in the front door you walk into a large open plan living area with sliding doors opposite onto the pool area.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare your own food comfortably. A huge fridge freezer, toaster, full size oven and hobs and a kettle. In the kitchen is a table and chairs and just outside of the kitchen area but open to it is a large dining table.
The living room has a comfy sofa and arm chair and coffee table and a large TV with many channels and pay per view as well as free movies.
In the corner of the living area is an archway, with Mickey and Minnie sitting above it, that leads to two bedrooms and the bathroom they share.
This bathroom also has a door out to the pool area so you can access the toilet and shower without going through the villa. The door to the pool area is alarmed to avoid incident.
One of the bedrooms is a twin room done up with a winnie the pooh theme. The room is very child friendly with plenty of soft toys.
The other bedroom is a twin room done up in a more grown up style, my daughter loves this room and claims it every time! Both rooms have large wardrobes.
The master bedroom is the other side of the villa and has a large, extremely comfortable bed! There is a wall mounted TV in this room and also a sliding door onto the pool area so it is possible to escape to the hot tub at night without the kids seeing!
The master bedroom has a large en-suit bathroom with walk in shower and separate bath and a huge walk in wardrobe.
There is a door from the living area to the garage where there is a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a full size pool table and air hockey table.
The pool area is covered by a lanai to keep bugs out. Outside of the lanai is a grass area and this is surrounded by a fence making the pool area private.
There is a large free standing hot tub, plenty of chairs and sun loungers, a covered dining area with table and chairs and a lovely bigger than average pool.
Pool heating is optional and charged as extra but we have never needed it.
The villa has free wi-fi, a phone with free local calls and good air conditioning with additional fans in each room.
There is a high chair if needed, as well as a travel cot and portable bars to go on the kids beds. There are also a variety of pushchairs and prams which you are free to use.
There are also two hair dryers and an iron/ironing board. Plenty of towels are provided both for the pool and the villa.
We absolutely love staying at Roo’s Ranch! It is a great base to come back to at the end of a busy day or for a rest between activities. It is so close to Disney that you can go back for lunch and a break! I really hope we can stay here again soon!
Taking a child with an ASD to Roo’s Ranch?
The villa is large and homely and a brilliant place to use as a base to come and go as needed.
The pool is great especially if your child is calmed by water.
The floor of the villa gets slippy when wet.
There are knives in the kitchen drawers which are not child locked but there are also out of reach cupboards to hide them in!
If you have to choose between a hotel and a villa I would definitely choose a villa which will give you your own private space away from the hustle and bustle of the parks.
The kitchen is a bonus especially if you have a fussy eater as you can prepare your own meals.
The childrens bedroom is friendly and contains lots of soft toys.
