As family hotels go, this one was great and extremely reasonable for a London hotel.
Yes it is out of the way a bit and yes it is on the wrong side of the river but what an adventure!
First you need to ride the docklands light railway which is super fun! If you get into the front carriage the kids can sit at the very front and watch out of the front window. My kids loved the novelty of this.
Next you need to cross the river on the hotels complimentary ferry. Great! A free boat ride on the Thames definitely adds to the adventure!
On checking in to the hotel we were given cookies which was a nice touch.
We had booked a family room which actually had two bedrooms, one double and one twin or triple room and a bathroom. There was a TV in each room and the beds were very comfortable. There was a small balcony with a very high wall so no chance of falling but at night an amazing view of London.
We did not eat dinner in the hotel restaurant so I can not comment on that, but when we went down to breakfast in the morning there was a pleasant surprise – a little room for the kids with a very appealing spread of treats!
Breakfast itself was great. It is a buffet with a large selection of food so everyone was happy.
The hotel also gives out free fruit so we were able to grab an apple to eat on the ferry trip back over the Thames.
Next time we are in London we will no doubt look this hotel up!

The family rooms are large, comfortable and clean.
Room service is available.
Breakfast is buffet style.

It is worth also checking laterooms.com and lastminute.com or tripadvisor to find the best rate. It is possible to drive to this hotel but if travelling by public transport it is more fun to get the ferry!
